Grassroots Organizing.

First, let’s make sure we're on the same page when we talk about "grassroots organizing." In many ways, it aligns perfectly with the tenants of human rights.

Grassroots organizing is about people applying a collective vision for the benefit of the community; advocating for equitable sharing of power and equal participation from the bottom up. Aren’t these the reasons we value taking action for human rights?

And, if civic space is shrinking, shouldn't we be more mindful about opening up space for those who need it — people who are directly affected by a problem or whose rights have been infringed or violated. 

A recent study found that constituent interactions have more influence on lawmakers’ decisions than other advocacy strategies. The future of solving problems is grassroots.
