Food insecurity exists in every county and congressional district in the country. But not everyone struggling with hunger qualifies for federal nutrition assistance.

There are several local programs which are open to the public and make food available to eligible community members.

o FedUp is a new food truck in Southeast Michigan. FedUp serves good, healthy, food truck style with dignity to communities that are food insecure. You can FedUp Truck at 1501 W Liberty St., Ann Arbor, 48103.

o Fresh produce is available at the Hope Clinic Farm Stand, 454 Harriet St., Ypsilanti, 48197 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings, 4-6pm. You must call in advance to reserve a spot. No walk in appointments are accepted. Call (734) 484-2989 Monday-Friday 9am-5pm to sign up for a time slot between 4-6pm.
