We’re a network of grassroots-based organizations committed to a single mission: Prevent and end homelessness while ensuring the immediate needs of those experiencing homelessness are met. We envision a world where everyone has a safe, affordable home of their choice.
Homelessness is a major crisis in America. People end up homeless due to a wide range of reasons, from a limited pool of affordable housing, alcohol or drug addition, mental health circumstances to limited housing assistance and employment and poverty in general.
We take as our first principle of practice that people who are currently experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity must be at the center of our work.
What keeps us busy.
March 2024
We’ve begun the work of forming a network of community-based organizations to work together to improve our services serving houseless and unsheltered residents. We’ve also focused advocacy efforts on affordable housing.
Housing costs continue to rise making the area with the most jobs, educational opportunities and amenities unaffordable and unavailable for too many residents.
Project Goals:
Implement a collaborative and coordinated approach to delivering services, sharing information and resources among partners participating in the Homelessness Solidarity Network (HSN).
Encourage the conversations and perspectives of people with lived experiences before, during, and after periods of being unhoused? How can these narratives inform and implement systemic and transformative change?
Quickly connect people to housing or support services, wherever they show up or at what point help is needed from network members.
